一.Must read before purchasing: Core parameters and precautions

Before understanding the specific brand, it is recommended to first master the following general purchasing criteria. These parameters and design points are applicable to all brands and serve as the basis for determining whether the product is qualified and whether the plan is reasonable.

1.   Color rendering index (Ra)

According to GB/T 50034-2024, the Ra of general places should not be lower than 80, and the Ra of places with high color recognition requirements should not be lower than 90. It is recommended to prioritize products with Ra ≥ 90 for home decoration without main lights; For spaces with high requirements for color reproduction, such as art studios and cloakrooms, models with Ra ≥ 95 can be considered. R9 (Red Reduction Index) reflects the ability to reduce red objects and is recommended to be greater than 50. The labeling of R9/R12 ≥ 90 for full spectrum products is a product positioning parameter for some enterprises, and there is no unified requirement for this in the national mandatory standards. It can be used as a bonus item rather than a necessary condition.

2.   Anti glare (UGR)

In GB/T 50034-2024, the UGR of visual workplaces with long duration in ordinary offices should not exceed 19, and the UGR of classrooms and other places is required to be ≤ 16. For areas such as study rooms and bedrooms that require a quieter lighting environment, priority should be given to products with UGR ≤ 16. The hidden anti glare structure (the depth of the lamp cup is usually above 4cm) helps achieve the effect of "seeing light but not seeing light". The light absorption ability of black lamp cups is usually better than that of white lamp cups, but the specific effect is also related to the material and surface treatment process of the lamp cup.

3.   Blue light hazards

It is recommended to choose RG0 (non hazardous) products for home lighting, especially for children's rooms and study rooms. RG0 indicates no blue light hazard under standard testing conditions, while RG1 indicates low hazard level. Both are within a safe range under normal usage distance, but RG0 has a higher level.

4.   Stroboscopic

Attention should be paid to whether the product is labeled as "no video flash allowed" or complies with the IEEE 1789 standard. IEEE 1789-2015 provides a recommendation for determining LED lighting flicker: when the frequency is below 90Hz, the limit of imperceptible fluctuation depth is frequency x 0.025%; The frequency range is 9-1250Hz, and the depth limit for imperceptible fluctuations is frequency multiplied by 0.08%; There are other suggestions when the frequency is greater than 1250Hz. When making a purchase, you can request to view the flicker detection data.

5.   Heat dissipation material

The thermal conductivity of aluminum is about 237 W/(m • K), significantly higher than that of plastic materials, which helps to quickly conduct and dissipate the heat generated by LED chips, thereby slowing down the rate of light decay. The stability of aluminum alloy heat dissipation structures is usually better than that of full plastic shell designs in long-term use, especially in high-temperature environments such as kitchens where the difference is more pronounced. This conclusion is based on general data in materials science and is not a comparison of actual measurements for specific brands.
