According to the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Greening and City Appearance, the "Lujiazui Area Landscape Lighting Improvement Project from the Perspective of the World's Living Room" completed at the end of 2023, with the "World's Living Room" on the North Bund as the best viewing benchmark, significantly enhanced the quality of the night view along the Pudong riverside, making it Shanghai's urban "light and shadow business card". The year 2025 marks the 35th anniversary of Pudong's development and opening-up. The design plan for the new round of landscape lighting improvement project in Lujiazui, Pudong, is themed "World Stage • Oriental Curtain", using technological light and shadow to interpret the city's romantic symphony, highlighting the spirit of "Pudong, Advancing with the World".

This upgrading project adopts the strategy of "eliminating, retaining, adding, modifying, and connecting" to achieve synchronous renewal of the landscape lighting in Lujiazui area from multiple perspectives. With the World Lounge as the core perspective, taking into account the perspectives of areas such as the exit of Yan'an East Road Tunnel in Pudong and the Lujiazui Corridor, the project comprehensively optimizes and enhances the classic skyline of Lujiazui, reflecting its layered and deep sense, and forming visual harmony and unity.

Through three major strategies: "Shaping" - reshaping the architectural light and shadow structure to highlight modernity, "Innovating" - optimizing the integrity of the night view at core viewpoints, and "Establishing" - establishing an intelligent linkage system and planning festive light shows, the regional landscape is systematically upgraded to create a world-class urban night view card that combines aesthetics and functionality.

The top of the building features dynamic lighting in three primary colors: national flag red, golden prosperity, and Shanghai blue. These three main hues closely align with Pudong's development orientation, historical mission, and future vision, forming a multi-dimensional color matrix that creates a full-color "skyline symphony" as needed. This lighting design is not only a visual art, but also a concrete expression of Pudong's development logic. Together, they construct a three-dimensional image of Pudong as a "benchmark of China's reform and opening up" and a "model of global cities".

The results of this nightscape lighting enhancement will be presented to the general public and tourists during the 2nd Shanghai International Light Festival and the China International Import Expo. At that time, the Lujiazui area in Pudong will undergo a transformation of light and shadow - in the dazzling panorama of the Lujiazui urban skyline, the building clusters will transform into "urban pianos", playing a brand-new "Night of Shanghai" with light as the keys. Lujiazui will also be built into a global exchange center for light and shadow art.
