From March 25th to 27th, the International Automotive Lighting Exhibition (ALE) was held at the Kunshan Huaqiao International Exhibition Center. Naxin Micro showcased its LED driver solution for automotive lighting in all scenarios and re released its multi RGB ambient light driver chip - NSUC1527.
From the development trend of ambient lighting, in the past, ambient lighting mainly existed in the form of point light sources or line light sources, and users only focused on color changes, such as basic effects like red, green, blue, etc. In the future, ambient lighting will develop towards scenarization and zoning control. For example, when the driver is in a state of fatigue, the driver's side can adjust to a cool color tone of about 6500K color temperature to help the driver stay alert; On the passenger side, warm tones can be used to create a comfortable resting environment and enhance the riding experience. This partition adjustment capability is an important direction for the future development of cabin ambient light.
In the process of implementing the above functions, there are still two major technical challenges. Firstly, the increase in the number of channels, as ambient lights evolve from point and line sources to surface sources, significantly increases the demand for the number of lamp bead channels. Secondly, the requirement for color control accuracy. In complex scenes, ambient lights not only need to achieve rich color changes, but also need to maintain highly consistent color expression in different environments to ensure minimal color differences
Nanochip Micro's NSUC1527 is a highly integrated and high-performance automotive grade LED driver solution launched to address the aforementioned challenges. This product is based on the design concept of "MCU+" for nano chip micro, which highly integrates MCU, LED driver, and communication interface, while improving the EMC performance of the system, and can meet customers' demanding experimental requirements.
In terms of core parameters, NSUC1527 has a 27 channel constant current source, which supports a maximum current of 64mA per channel and can independently control 9 RGB sensors. At the same time, it has built-in 24 channel phase control and can support up to 18 RGB connections. If designed with external components, a single chip can control up to 81 LED chips.
At the system level, NSUC1527 supports CAN FD, LIN, and UART communication, and has OTA upgrade capability. High integration design helps reduce system BOM costs while optimizing EMC performance and system reliability, meeting AEC-Q100 Grade 1 automotive requirements. This solution is suitable for surface light sources and regional ambient lighting applications, supporting more complex lighting design and system integration requirements.
In addition, the product uses an ARM Cortex-M3 processor with a maximum clock frequency of 72MHz, which can handle complex computing requirements and meet lighting efficiency and interactive control in various scenarios. Built in 128KB Flash and 16KB SRAM, supporting customers for multi scenario application development, as well as OTA upgrades and A/B backups, meeting the current requirements for system upgrades, especially for new energy vehicle companies in China. In addition, it also supports LDO outputs of 3.3V and 5V.
Naxinwei pointed out that "compared to the NSUC1500 series we previously launched, the NSUC1527 has a different product positioning. The NSUC1500 has a four channel driver, mainly used in single light scenes, suitable for static changes of point and line light sources, supports RGB driving, and the fourth channel is used for customer customization, which can also drive red or white light to meet lighting application needs. The NSUC1527 has 27 channels and supports multiple communication methods, designed specifically for dynamic scene changes. It is a highly integrated MCU+LED driver product. At present, NSUC1527 has been officially released worldwide, and customers can obtain samples and technical support through official channels.
It is understood that Naxinwei is a company focused on high-performance and high reliability analog chips and mixed signal chips, mainly focusing on three major fields: sensors, signal chains, and power management, providing a variety of LED semiconductor products for industries such as automotive, electronics, industry, and communication. In the field of automotive lighting, the company has achieved full scene coverage from interior ambient lighting to exterior taillights and headlights. At present, its domestic market share in the taillight market has reached 34%, which is at the leading level in the industry.
At this ALE exhibition, Naxinwei not only released the NSUC1527, but also systematically demonstrated LED driving solutions covering the entire automotive lighting scene, including cabin ambient lights, taillights, headlights, and car backlights. In the field of vehicle lighting, nano core microstrip has introduced automotive grade linear LED driver chips that support 1/3/12/16/24 channels; In the field of in car displays, new backlight LED driver solutions NSL6103 and NSL6104 have been launched. In addition, in the field of headlight lighting, Naxinwei also exhibited three new products: Pre Boost constant voltage controller NSL31682, Buck LED driver NSL31520, and LED matrix manager NSL31664/5, attracting many professional visitors to stop and exchange ideas.
Taking the release of NSUC1527 as an opportunity, Nanochip Microelectronics fully demonstrated its full stack capabilities in the field of automotive lighting, from chips to systems, from hardware to solutions. Faced with the trend of intelligent and scene based development in automotive lighting, the company is relying on continuous technological innovation and deep product accumulation to help customers create more differentiated cabin experiences, injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the automotive lighting industry.
