On March 5th, Premier Li Qiang of the State Council, on behalf of the State Council, presented the 2024 Government Work Report to the Second Session of the 14th National People's Congress (hereinafter referred to as the "Two Sessions"), proposing ten important tasks for government work in the new year

It is worth noting in the lighting industry that the report mentions multiple key points related to the development of the lighting industry. We have summarized ten key words and analyzed the development opportunities that the government's work tasks in 2024 will bring to the national lighting industry.

1、 Intelligent connected new energy vehicles

In the task of actively cultivating emerging and future industries, the report proposes to consolidate and expand the leading advantages of industries such as intelligent connected new energy vehicles, and actively create a new growth engine for the low altitude economy. In the task of promoting stable consumption growth, the report also mentions boosting bulk consumption such as intelligent connected new energy vehicles.

In recent years, with the rise of high-tech applications such as 5G and artificial intelligence, intelligent connected vehicles have become a major development trend in the transportation field. In the supporting facilities of intelligent connected vehicles, smart light poles have become an important pivot for the lighting industry to cross the high-tech field.

In January of this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and five other departments issued a notice on the pilot work of "vehicle road cloud integration" application for intelligent connected vehicles, which clearly proposed "exploring the establishment of a development model such as multi pole integration and multi sensing integration", and affirmed the important role of smart light poles as new infrastructure in the development of the intelligent connected vehicle industry.

From the perspective of application scenarios, in the operation system of intelligent connected vehicles, smart light poles can not only intelligently control the road lighting efficiency of intelligent connected vehicles through their various perception devices, but also analyze real-time data such as traffic flow, pedestrian numbers, weather conditions, etc., to help high-tech vehicles achieve safer and more efficient driving. More noteworthy is that the development model of multi pole integration and multi sensor integration will promote the deep integration of smart light poles and vehicle road cloud, and promote the functional construction of smart cities.

From the perspective of the implementation of the national "dual carbon" strategy, new energy vehicles have become a must-have model for intelligent connected vehicles. Given the overall electrification design of this type of vehicle, coupled with the support of digital technology, automotive lighting products will face market opportunities for innovative application in the field of intelligent connected new energy vehicles.

In the past 2023, there has been a clear trend of technological innovation in the digitalization, pixelization, and visualization of the national automotive lighting industry sector. In the future, the integration of multiple senses in smart light poles and the intelligent linkage of automotive lighting may become an important technological upgrade direction for the development of the intelligent connected new energy vehicle industry.

2、 Digital infrastructure

In the task of deepening the innovation and development of the digital economy, the report proposes to deepen research and development applications such as big data and artificial intelligence, carry out "artificial intelligence+" actions, build smart cities and digital villages, moderately advance the construction of digital infrastructure, and accelerate the formation of a national integrated computing power system.

In recent years, with the advancement of smart city and digital rural construction, various new types of digital lighting infrastructure have been applied and implemented in urban and rural construction. In the past year of 2023, not only have smart street lights gradually moved from cities to rural areas, but urban lighting management systems such as smart lamp post management systems, smart lighting monitoring management systems, wireless lighting monitoring systems, and laser projection urban landscape lighting systems have also added "technological brains" to new lighting infrastructure, allowing the light of lighting to realize greater social and livelihood value.

Looking ahead to 2024, the new development trend brought by lighting technology in the field of urban and rural digital infrastructure is worth eagerly anticipating by the national lighting industry.

3、 Improvement of educational conditions

In the key tasks of strengthening the construction of a high-quality education system, the report proposes to carry out actions to expand and improve the quality of basic education, accelerate the high-quality and balanced development of compulsory education and urban-rural integration, in order to improve the operating conditions of rural boarding schools. The proposal of this task point means that the trend of technological upgrading of educational infrastructure will spill over from cities to rural areas.

Although classroom lighting upgrades and renovations have spread to educational institutions in major cities across the country, the pace of lighting upgrades and renovations in rural educational institutions is significantly slower than in cities. With the proposal of the key tasks of achieving balanced development of urban-rural education and improving the conditions of rural schools in the report, the lighting renovation of rural school classrooms will usher in a wave of high-tech transformation and upgrading, bringing market opportunities for more enterprises entering the field of educational lighting.
